Skeletons in the Closet Discovery ID describes the show as: when 18 year-old Brittany Loritts is murdered in her North Carolina home, investigators are at a loss as to who would commit such a crime. The case gets hot when investigators find that this family home is built on buried secrets.
Her Step Father, Reginald Carlton Weeks, Jr entered an Alford plea to reduced charges
of Second Degree Murder and Second Degree Rape. Weeks was sentenced to
about 9 years with the rape charged being consolidated with the murder
charge. He has since been released after serving only seven years. He was sent back to jail for a parole violation in 2016.
This is the perfect example of how there is no prison pipeline. He should have been sentenced to much longer in prison and/or been violated well before this time. Unfortunate for every person who loved Brittany.
