The only survivor is daughter Maggie. This story was also on Evil Lives Here where Alex's father tells the story of his experience with this crime up to and including his suicide.

Alex sued Philhaven for treatment he received while he was a teenager. He committed suicide by hanging on Jan. 20 of 2017 while he was serving life for three counts of first degree homicide. As someone who spent most of their adulthood in Lancaster county, I can tell you these murders were absolutely shocking. Things like this simply don't happen here, until they do.
