Innocence Lost In 1995, Portage, IN, Sarah Paulsen, 8, is found assaulted and murdered. After several leads, police in the close knit town are stymied. Could a tipster's call, odd confessions, or an original suspect be the culprit?
Eugene Britt pleaded guilty but mentally ill. He was sentenced to life in prison plus a consecutive 100 years. In total he was guilty of three murders and a rape. His victims were Nakita Moore, Debra McHenry and Tonya Dunlap and
another unnamed fourteen year old girl. He is in a wheelchair after an unsuccessful suicide attempt where he threw himself in front of a train. As many as ten murders have been attributed to him.
At sentencing Britt made a rambling apology owning what he had done and his guilty. He will never be released from prison.
