Investigators were left to assume Epps' body parts, wrapped in a green blanket and placed in a wooden nightstand, had been randomly dumped in Fountain's backyard on the 100 block of Montana.. James Fountain was caught when cold case detectives tested all of the evidence linked to this case. Despite having no reason to suspect him, he was in fact the killer. He plead not guilty.
Fountain also was convicted in 1984 for sexual attacks involving 7- and 8-year-old girls in the New York City area.
